Standard account — best for Uganda beginners
The Standard account is the most popular Exness account type globally and the clear choice for most Ugandan traders starting out. Here's why it works well for Uganda specifically:
- $10 minimum deposit (≈ USh 36,000) — genuinely accessible for most Ugandans
- Direct MTN/Airtel deposit — no P2P needed, the money goes straight in
- No commission — costs are built into the spread, which is easier to understand for beginners
- All instruments available — gold (XAU/USD), EUR/USD, GBP/USD, US30, crypto CFDs
- Unlimited leverage available — use with extreme caution; stick to 1:10 or 1:20 while learning
- Instant withdrawal to MTN/Airtel — tested and confirmed
The only downside: spreads are slightly wider than the professional accounts. On EUR/USD you'll typically see 0.3–1.0 pip spread. On gold (XAU/USD), spreads average around 0.4–0.8 pips. For the trade sizes most Ugandan beginners use ($10–$200), this cost difference is negligible.
Standard Cent account — for very small trades
The Cent account is identical to the Standard account in almost every way, with one key difference: your balance is held in "cents" rather than dollars. This means a $10 deposit gives you 1,000 cents to trade with, and each pip movement is worth 100x less than on a standard account.
When to choose Cent over Standard:
- You want to practice with real money but with even lower risk per trade
- You want to trade micro-lots (0.01 lots on Cent = 0.0001 on Standard)
- You're testing a new strategy and want to minimise risk during the learning phase
When NOT to use Cent: once you've learned the basics, the Cent account's smaller position sizes limit your earning potential. Transition to the Standard account once you're profitable on Cent.
Pro account — for consistent traders
The Pro account requires a $200 minimum (≈ USh 730,000) and offers tighter spreads than the Standard — from 0.1 pip on major pairs. There is no commission, just the slightly tighter spread. The Pro account also offers instant execution rather than market execution, which can be important during volatile markets.
Right for you if: you've been trading profitably on a Standard account for at least 2–3 months, your average trade size is above $500, and you're consistently profitable enough that tighter spreads make a meaningful difference to your bottom line.
Not right for you if: you're new to trading, you trade infrequently, or you haven't yet consistently profited on a Standard account.
Raw Spread account — for active traders
The Raw Spread account offers spreads from 0.0 pips — the tightest possible — but charges a commission of $7 per round lot ($3.50 to open, $3.50 to close). This is better than the Standard or Pro account if you trade high volumes, because the raw spread savings outweigh the commission cost above roughly 50 lots per month.
For most Ugandan traders, the Raw Spread account is only worth it if you're trading actively every day and know exactly what you're doing. The $200 minimum and commission structure make it unsuitable for beginners or occasional traders.
Zero account — for scalpers
The Zero account offers zero-pip spreads on the 30 most popular instruments for 95% of the trading day, with a commission of $3.50 per lot per side. Designed specifically for scalpers — traders who open and close many small trades throughout the day targeting tiny price movements.
Scalping is one of the most difficult trading styles to master and has a very high failure rate among new traders. The Zero account is only appropriate if you have significant trading experience, a tested scalping strategy, and the emotional discipline to execute it consistently.
Islamic (swap-free) accounts
All Exness account types can be configured as Islamic (swap-free) accounts upon request. Islamic accounts do not charge or pay overnight swap fees, making them suitable for Muslim traders who cannot earn or pay interest (riba) under Islamic financial principles.
To enable swap-free on your account: Exness Personal Area → Account Settings → Swap-Free → Submit Request. Approval usually takes 1–2 business days. Note: swap-free accounts may have different conditions for some instruments.

How to open an Exness account in Uganda
Can I have multiple account types?
Yes. Exness allows you to open multiple trading accounts under one Personal Area login. You could have a Standard account for regular trading, a Cent account for testing strategies, and a Pro account for larger trades — all funded separately from your Personal Area. Many experienced Ugandan traders maintain 2–3 accounts this way.
