Android: Download Binance APK in Uganda
Most Ugandan Binance users are on Android, and the APK install is the standard method. It takes about 3 minutes total. Here is exactly what to do:
-
Open binance.com on your phone browser
Scroll to the bottom of the page. Tap "Download" or look for the QR code section. Tap the Android button. -
Allow downloads from unknown sources
When your phone asks, tap "Settings" → enable "Install unknown apps" or "Allow from this source" for your browser. This is a one-time permission. It does not make your phone less secure when the source is the official Binance website. -
Tap the downloaded APK file
Go to your phone's Downloads folder, find the Binance APK file, and tap it. Tap "Install" when prompted. The install takes about 30 seconds. -
Open Binance and log in or register
If you already have an account, enter your email and password. If you're new, tap "Register" and follow the steps — you'll need a working email address and your National ID or passport for verification.
Only download the Binance APK from binance.com directly. Never install an APK shared on WhatsApp, Telegram, or any other source — these are frequently fake apps designed to steal your funds. The file size should be approximately 80–100MB. If someone sends you a "Binance APK" that's under 20MB, it is fake.
Windows PC: Download Binance for Desktop
The Binance desktop app for Windows gives you a larger screen for trading, better charting, and the ability to run Binance alongside other tools. It works on Windows 10 and Windows 11 — both 32-bit and 64-bit.
-
Go to binance.com/en/download
Look for the Windows section. Click "Download for Windows." You'll download a .exe file, typically called something like "Binance_Setup.exe". -
Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded file. If Windows Defender shows a warning, click "More info" then "Run anyway" — this is common for apps that aren't yet widely distributed on Windows and doesn't mean the file is dangerous. -
Complete the installation
The installer creates a Binance shortcut on your desktop. Click it to open. The first launch may take 30–60 seconds while it loads. -
Log in with your Binance account
Same account as your phone app. Binance syncs across all devices — your wallet, trade history, and P2P settings are all accessible.
Binance for Windows — System Requirements
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 (32-bit) | Windows 10/11 (64-bit) |
| RAM | 2GB | 4GB+ |
| Storage | 500MB free | 1GB+ free |
| Internet | Any connection | Stable connection for trading |
iPhone (iOS): Download Binance in Uganda
Binance is available on the Apple App Store, but it is restricted in many countries — including Uganda. The workaround is to download it using a US or UK Apple ID. This is fully legal and used by millions of people worldwide.
-
Create a free US Apple ID
Go to appleid.apple.com on any browser. Create a new Apple ID — use "United States" as your country. You don't need a US credit card; select "None" as payment method during setup. -
Sign into the App Store with the US Apple ID
On your iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Sign Out → sign in with the US Apple ID. (You'll switch back to your regular Apple ID afterwards.) -
Search for "Binance" in the App Store and install
The official Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto app appears. Tap Get → Install. Once installed, switch back to your regular Apple ID in Settings — the app stays on your phone. -
Log in with your Binance account
Same login as your other devices. Your account, wallet, and settings are fully accessible on iPhone.
Binance Web App — No Download Needed
If you don't want to download anything, you can use Binance directly in your phone or PC browser at binance.com. The web app gives you access to your wallet, P2P trading, and most core features. It doesn't have push notifications and can be slightly slower than the native app, but it works well for checking balances and making P2P trades.
For Ugandan users who primarily use P2P to buy and sell USDT, the web app is a completely viable option. No install permissions required, no APK concerns.
After Installing: First Steps
Once Binance is installed and you're logged in, three things to do before making your first trade:
-
Complete identity verification (KYC)
Go to Profile → Identification → Basic Verification. Upload your Ugandan National ID or passport. Verification typically takes 15 minutes to 2 hours. Without KYC, your P2P trading limits are very low. -
Enable 2-factor authentication
Go to Security → Two-Factor Authentication. Use the Binance Authenticator (built-in) or Google Authenticator. This protects your account if someone gets your password. -
Make your first MTN Mobile Money deposit via P2P
See our full MTN deposit guide for step-by-step instructions on buying USDT with Ugandan shillings.

Troubleshooting Common Download Problems
Your phone's security settings are blocking APK installs. Go to Settings → Security (or Privacy) → find "Install unknown apps" or "Unknown sources" → enable it for your browser app (Chrome, Firefox, etc.). Then try the install again. After installing Binance you can turn this setting off again if you want.
The Binance APK is 80–100MB, which can take time on a slow connection. If your data is limited, download it over Wi-Fi. There is no official "lite" version of Binance. If you see a much smaller APK being offered anywhere, it is not the real Binance app.
The Binance APK doesn't auto-update like Play Store apps. When you see an update prompt inside the app, tap it — Binance will download the new APK and install it automatically. This happens every few months and takes about 2 minutes.
Binance is geo-restricted on the Uganda App Store. Follow the US Apple ID method described above. If you already have a US Apple ID from before, just sign into the App Store with it, download Binance, then switch back to your regular Apple ID. The app stays installed.
This is a standard Windows SmartScreen warning for apps that don't yet have a large install history on Microsoft's systems. Click "More info" then "Run anyway." The official Binance installer downloaded directly from binance.com is safe.
Binance sends a security verification email when you log in from a new device. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for a message from Binance asking you to verify the new device. Click the link in the email — your account will unlock immediately. This is a security feature, not a ban.
